The road trip from Vancouver to Whistler is one of the most beautiful I ever made. According to google maps the road from Vancouver to Whistler is 125 km long and takes 1 hour 38 minutes. First you get on the Trans-Canada-Highway and then BC-99 to the north. It is worth to take enough time - at least two and half hours - and enjoy it fully. I was lucky travelling on wonderful day. My trip took me 2 hours including two view point stops (I will talk about later) and one 'refueling of my car' stop.
The road is called Sea-to-Sky and goes along the fjord of Pacific. The road was build long time ago, rebuild and widen for the Olympic Games in 2010. Beautiful views are integral part of the trip.

Result of the reconstruction in 2010 is the highway with two lines in each direction for most of the way and pathway for cyklists almost along the whole way from Vancouver to Whistler. Be careful, you will pass by many bikers.
The highway is often carved in the rocks.
Sometimes decorated by blossoming flowers.
Now back to my two stops. Along the way are many interesting view points. I was told I must stop at the Shannon Falls. I have to admit, the stop was worth the time and I decided to stop on my way back to Vancouver again, to take more time and do little hike around the falls.
Here little teaser. View from below. The hike is 2,5 km long, 550 meters elevation gain.
I picked-up one the view points and I cannot tell whether I am so lucky choosing the best one, or whether all view points are very special like this one.
Viewpoint view ... isn't it just gorgeous?
After two hours - Whistler. The village itself is quite long. Olympics helped here to build cosy mountain resort.
Whistler, beauty in the middle of a forest (view from my hotel room).
Enjoy the wild ride! ... and come back again!
Yes, yes, yes, what a stunning view...and this blue sky with snowy mountains. Thanks for sharing ;)
